How to Spot Fake Earning Apps in Pakistan (2026 Checklist)

Independent guide · Updated October 2026

“Earning apps” are one of the most searched topics in Pakistan, and also one of the most abused. Many apps sold as a way to earn money are actually casino games, colour prediction games or investment schemes. Use this checklist before you install anything or send money.

The 10-point checklist

  1. Is it on Google Play or the App Store? APK-only apps skip official review.
  2. Is a company named? Look for a registered business name and address, not just a website.
  3. Is it licensed? Real-money gaming has no legal licence in Pakistan, so any app taking bets is operating outside the law.
  4. Who receives your money? Payments to personal JazzCash/Easypaisa numbers or changing accounts are a warning sign.
  5. Does “earning” mean betting? If you must deposit to play slots, crash, mines, Wingo or Teen Patti, it is gambling, not earning.
  6. Are the bonuses realistic? “Rs 99,999 redeem codes” and “Rs 100,000 daily red envelopes” are bait.
  7. Is there a referral pyramid? If you earn mainly by inviting people who deposit, the money comes from them.
  8. Are there many “official” websites? A real brand has one official site.
  9. Do withdrawals have hidden conditions? Turnover rules, rising minimums and “fees to unlock” are red flags.
  10. What permissions does it want? SMS, contacts and notification access can expose your wallet OTPs.

Common types of risky apps

Type How it’s sold What it is
Casino / slot apps (e.g. P999) “Play games and earn” Unlicensed gambling
Colour prediction “Predict and win every minute” Fast-cycle betting
Task or “like and earn” apps “Earn by watching videos” Often deposit-to-unlock schemes
Unregulated trading apps “Daily guaranteed profit” Unlicensed forex/binary trading

Safer ways to earn online in Pakistan

Legitimate options take time but don’t ask you to deposit money to start: freelancing on established platforms, selling products or services online, tutoring, content creation, and learning in-demand skills through recognised courses.
